Crispy Cabbage & Egg Patties
Ingredients
- 1 small cabbage (about 5–6 cups, finely shredded)
- 4 eggs
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2–3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup chopped parsley or green onions
- 1 cup all-purpose flour (add more if needed)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon paprika (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon oregano or Italian seasoning
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- Prepare the cabbage
- Finely shred the cabbage.
- Sprinkle with a little salt and let it sit for 10 minutes.
- Squeeze out excess moisture.
- Make the mixture
- Beat the eggs.
- Add the cabbage, onion, garlic, herbs, salt, pepper, paprika, and flour.
- Mix until everything holds together. If the mixture is too wet, add a little more flour.
- Shape
- Form into oval or cylindrical patties like those in the picture.
- Cook
- Heat a thin layer of oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- Fry for about 4–5 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through.
- Serve
- Enjoy with sour cream, garlic yogurt sauce, ketchup, or your favorite dipping sauce.
Optional Add-ins
- 1 cup grated cheese (mozzarella or cheddar)
- 1 grated carrot
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs for extra crispiness
- Cooked bacon bits or diced ham
